Kris and I were watching some VH1 countdown last week and AC/DC's You Shook Me All night long" was on the list and we just started laughing at the same time. I asked him, "Why are you laughing?" He said " I'm having flashbacks to weddings" "Me too!"
Seriosuly. Think about the last 5 weddings/formals you went to, when this song came on didn't everyone just absolutely lose their shit?
From the moment the guitar starts, "duhhhh," It's hysterical, if you look at the p
rofessional wedding pictures of the reception you can always tell when this song came on. You never have any pictures of your own, because men are hopping across the dance floor on one leg and women are getting half naked. Seriously I just checked- I have no photos. It's like that Chappelle's Show skit with John Mayer and they're out to prove that white peope can dance they just need guitar. I'm laughing now thinking about many of you dear blog readers getting out of control. And weirdly enough, isn't it true that the old people even come out for this one. Like "Billy Jean" was just too out there for them, but they're not going to let AC/DC pass by.

(Steeler Mom stop reading if you're at work) Kris' Grandma Anderson could get down like no else. She passed away three years ago this April and we miss her like crazy, but I can see her busting a move like it was yesterday. Grandma would out hustle anybody. Her favorites were Proud Mary and Old Time Rock and Roll, and whenever those songs come on the radio we turn them up LOUD for Grandma. Once the music started you nearly could not get her off the dance floor. She was awesome. She was just the tiniest little dot with the sparklingest blue eyes you've ever seen. She had the awesome ability to make you feel like everything was a private joke between you and her. She was the most humble, sweetest, Christ-filled lady you'd ever meet. When you were hanging with Grandma, you were hanging with Jesus because she was always with him and you felt it. After she passed away, we were so sad because we'd miss her but as we were driving up to Pittsburgh for the funeral I asked Kris what Grandma was doing in heaven, because certainly if anybody was in heaven, it was Grandma. And he said with a big smile, "Grandma's giving Jesus a high five right now."
That's totally her.
And that's how you start a blog entry with AC/DC and end with Jesus.

Check out my blog. I'm coming to HH next week! Can we see each other?!
Oh my god, I'm so excited, I'm getting my hair cut and hooves done in preparation.
Thank you Kris and Steph for the lovely memory of Grandma. She would also be dnacing in heaven-she was always in demand for the jitterbug, and entertained the "old folks" at the retirement center on many occasions with her dancing moves. Those memories are so precious! (of course I am crying, but happy tears!)
