UPDATED- Luck o'the Irish

We're headed downtown for Savannah's St. Patrick's day parade this morning - it's like the third largest in the nation and I think the only one without open container laws. Kris is downstairs mixing up a batch of Malley Margaritas; while I consider if I'll want two Diet Barq's or a Diet Barq's and a Diet Ginger Ale. This is probably our last one for a few years and so we're going to go but after seeing two people driving with go-cups in their hands yesterday I'm a bit leery.
(And I can't drink-WHAT? Stephanie. please)

Here's a picture from last (same random disposable camera) - we're pretty much wearing the same again this year.

*** So we returned home safe and sound- I navigated our way home through the hood to beat the traffic and boy did we. I am genius. Kris is sunburned and hungover so I'm sure he'd give the day thumbs up if he could. I am neither but thumbs up still. We were kindly invited up to the Smith's balcony and seriously it was a sociological phenomenon. Parade people love the balcony, and I love being the center of attention so it was a good fit. Just kidding. But really, the people in the parade would be going along : wave, smile, wave, smile, wave ---- spot people on balcony- "HEY!!!! Big waves big smiles- like "we know you! You are fun and important!" Ok maybe the last part is just some projecting on my part but it really was amazing to watch. FYI the parade kind of mildly sucked, I've never seen such half assed bands in my life. Ok I never was in a band; BUT if I were I would have demanded excellence from my bandmates including; synchronization, enthusiasm and less than ill fitting uniforms. The Jenkins High School band looked more like a perp walk. (Not surprising really). It was still fun and I'm glad I went. So there.
